Mary Jean Henderson

Mary Jean Henderson, 96, went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2023.  Mary was born on January 31, 1927, to Joseph and Sophia Neustupa in Kaufman, TX. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother of one, grandmother of one and great grandmother of one.  Mary was one of six children all of whom preceded her in death.  She married Harry R. Henderson on September 15, 1946, and they spent a loving 58 years together before he passed away in 2004.  Mary was a consummate hostess and had the ability to make everyone welcome with her unbelievable meals, generosity and kindness.  Above all, Mary took the most pride in her role as mother and grandmother, throughout her life.  Due to her failing health, she was unable to share the same with her great grandson, but she still continued to treasure her position in their lives through her final days.  Beyond her family, Mary was initiated and was active with the Eastern Star for 44 years.  Her friends and family take great comfort in the knowledge that she is now home with the Lord.  He parents, Joseph and Sophia, husband, Harry and siblings: Henry Neustupa, Sadie Ozimy, Jean Burgess, Joe Neustupa and Jerry Neustupa preceded her in death.  Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Henderson and his wife Olga, her grandson, Hale Ryan Henderson and his wife Kristin, great grandson Hunter Ryan Henderson, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
