Michael James O'Rourke

Michael James O’Rourke, 82, residing in Ruidoso, New Mexico, died October 13, 2024, at Cedar Creek Lake, Texas. Mike was an only child and preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jo and Dalvin J. O’Rourke.

Mike grew up in Fort Worth and he loved and played baseball at Arlington Heights High School, graduating in 1960. He went on to graduate Arlington State College, all while working for the Texas Highway Department. At the time of his death, Mike was married for 40+ years to Charmaine O’Rourke. Mike is survived by Charmaine and three daughters, Bonnie Mahoney of Dallas, Tx, Michelle Kothmann of Chicago, Illinois, and Heather Smith of Scurry, Tx. Mike had ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mike was a real treasure. After retirement, he was always busy and worked tirelessly in his shop building bird houses and feeders and other projects of wood. He was a quiet man with a huge capacity of love for his family and friends. He is, and always will be, missed by those he left behind. We will never forget his amazing smile and wonderful sense of humor.
