Randy Eric Vanderslice

Randy Eric Vanderslice passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, in Kaufman, Texas, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 4, 1961, in Texarkana, Texas, to C.W. Vanderslice, Jr., and Norma Jean Jones Vanderslice. 

Randy graduated from Texas High in 1979. He was the epitome of a hard worker. Following in his father’s footsteps, Randy began his career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons on July 14, 1991, at the Federal Correctional Institution, Texarkana, Texas. He later transferred to the United States Penitentiary in Lompoc, California, and then the Federal Correctional Institution, Seagoville, Texas. Randy retired from FCI Seagoville on January 6, 2018. 

In his free time, Randy enjoyed fishing, mowing, his tractors, and spending time with his family. 

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary Vanderslice, and his beloved Tiki.

He is survived by his wife, Lorie Vanderslice, children Erica and Chris Wolfe, of Boyd, Texas, and Leslie and Robert McClung, of Kaufman, Texas.

A private family graveside service is planned for Thursday, October 17, at Memorial Gardens in Texarkana, AR. 

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home, 2217 S. Washington Street, Kaufman, Texas. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
