Ray Crawford, Jr.

Ray Crawford, Jr., Kaufman, Texas, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. He was 63 years of age.

He was born on October 10, 1959, in Dallas, Texas to Arvell Crawford, Sr., and Anita (Shaw) Crawford. Ray worked for the Texas Department of Transportation in the signal shop for seventeen (17) years before retiring in April 2022. He also worked for Dallas Box Container and Crawford Roofing. Ray loved working on cars. He also loved to hunt but he especially loved gambling. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Johnnie (Chance) Crawford; daughters, Krystal Crawford, Kaufman, and Kimberly Love (spouse – Jimmy); sons Trey (spouse – Jamie) Crawford of Gun Barrell City, Jeffrey Crawford of Kaufman, and David Shwadlenka; grandchildren, Mylee Hurley, Josh Brewer, Jacque Brewer, Brett Brewer, Nyomi Butler Christian, Cody Hickey (spouse – Kristi), Keenan Hickey (spouse – Dakota), Misti Leslie, and Aaron Buccafurno. Several great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also will cherish their memories of Ray.

Those family members that preceded him in death are daughter, Debbie Hickey; granddaughter, Victoria Butler; father, Arvell Crawford, Sr.; and sister, Letha Ogles.

A visitation at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Chapel is on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services are Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Morrow Chapel Cemetery.
