Ricky Monroe Cox

Ricky Monroe Cox, 70, of Kaufman, TX passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones. Ricky was born on January 13, 1953, to William “Preacher” and Annie Morgan-Cox in Kaufman.  He was raised in the Kaufman area and worked for over 20 years for Mr. A. O. Freeman at the Feed Store then another 20  plus years for Trinity Valley Electric Coop. Ricky married the love of his life, Paula Baldwin Cox on April 19, 1974 and together they shared 49 years of wedded bliss. He enjoyed older vehicles, especially 57 Chevy’s, watching NASCAR, working with his cows, and baling hay. Ricky’s favorite pastime was being with his beloved family the most, either surrounded at the dining table or around the hood of an old vehicle with his sons. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Papa, Brother & Uncle.  He is preceded in death by his parents William “Preacher” and Annie, brothers: David A. Cox and Mark E. Cox; very special niece, Nancy Bass-Mitchell, and father-figure/friend, Mr. A.O. Freeman.  Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Paula, sisters: Joye Cook of Wills Point, TX, and Robbie Antuna and husband, Ruben of Kaufman, TX; daughter Cynthia Brumback and husband, Robert of Girard, KS, sons: Ricky Cox and wife, Fancha of Kaufman, Shane Cox and girlfriend, Melanie Glidewell of Kaufman, TX, Michael Cox and wife, Martha Cox of Kaufman, TX; grandchildren: Valerie Delgado, Chelsea Holman, Jacob Delgado, Kasey Cox, Bonni Cox and Carmyn Cox; great-grandchildren: Landon Holman, Kingston Cox-Taylor and Korsen Cox; as well as numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
