Ronnie Wayne Hooper, age 65, passed from this earth peacefully with his wife and loved ones at his bedside on Saturday, May 18, 2024, to be with our Lord and other loved ones that preceded him in death; his parents Wayne Hooper and Margie Gonzales; his brother, Mike Hooper, and other relatives.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Ann Hooper; two sons, James W. Hooper and Ronnie Wayne Hooper, Jr.; one daughter, Kristina A. Hooper DeArment (spouse – Mark); and his sister, Lisa C. Mason (Spouse – Greg).
At the age of fourteen, Ronnie chose not to continue his education to help and support his newly single mother and his younger siblings. He met the love of his life at age 14, Linda, and happily married her at age 17, on March 17, 1976. They were inseparable throughout their years together.
Ronnie was a jack of many trades but was especially good at mechanics. That led him to become a Diesel Technician for 46 years. He ended his career and retired from Ryder Trucking, (where he wore many titles) in December 2023. He was highly respected by all who knew him.
Ronnie loved and enjoyed spending time with his wife and his family and his many pets, especially his present fur baby, Bearnette. He loved watching movies, being on his boat to go fishing and camping. He was full of life, love, and laughter. His love of life was contagious, and he always looked forward to family reunions and get-togethers.
The family will have a Celebration of Life in the near future.
Ronnie’s family appreciates all the love and support shown to them at this most challenging time. In lieu of flowers and since Linda does not have a “green-thumb”, Ronnie’s wishes were for donations to be to his wife, Linda, to ease the burden of the needs of the household.
Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman is honored to assist Ronnie’s family with his arrangements.
