Theresa Kay Milligan, born on June 6, 1969, in Tyler, Texas, entered eternal rest on November 1, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Theresa had fought a valiant battle against cancer and won. Unfortunately, the chemotherapy required won the battle. Theresa was a child of God, and her strong faith carried her through her difficult times. She was a beacon of love and caring in all that she did, both in her professional and her personal life. She graduated from Whitehouse High school and was a graduate of Baylor University with a degree in nursing. Theresa poured her heart into her work throughout her career. Her passion for her career was matched only by her compassion for her fellow coworkers and the many patients she served over the years.
Theresa’s personality was as vibrant as the color purple that she cherished. She was loving and outgoing, a woman who spoke her mind with courage and grace. Her detailed orientation and creativity shone in every endeavor she undertook, while her gentle and kind demeanor left a lasting impression on the hearts of those around her. Above all, her family was her greatest treasure, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to them.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Steve Hawkins; her beloved children, Kristian Milligan, Alexis Anderson, and Victoria Milligan; her sister, Amanda Tucker; and her cherished mother, Nora McCormick Nichols (spouse – Willie); her cherished aunts, Nancy Stokes and Connie Sadler; and nephew, Joseph Weidman; and many cousins. Each member of her family carries forward her legacy of love and kindness, which will forever resonate in their lives.
She was predeceased by her father, Thomas Darwin Tucker; her grandparents, Errett and Livonia McCormick; and her cousin, Jeffrey Sadler. They welcomed her into their arms on the eternal side of a new life, where she is free from pain and surrounded by love.
A visitation in honor of Theresa will be held on November 5, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parker - Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman, Texas. The funeral service will take place the following day, November 6, 2024, at 10:30 AM, also at Parker - Ashworth Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry, Texas, at 11:45 AM.
In this profound moment of loss, the lives Theresa touched will continue to shine brightly. Her legacy of care, love, and kindness will forever serve as a guiding light and a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
