Wanda Lynn Howell

Wanda Lynn Howell 81, of Kaufman, Texas passed away in Gun Barrel City, Texas surrounded by her family on June 12, 2024. Lynn was born in Dallas, Texas to Bill and Wanda Hunsaker on January 1, 1943. She was the first baby in Dallas County born on the New Year. Lynn grew up in Dallas and in her later high school years moved to Kaufman and graduated with the class of 1961 and attended Tarleton State University.  Lynn married the love of her life Gerald Howell on June 17, 1962.  Lynn was a housewife and auction clerk for H&L Tractor and bookkeeper for Howell Motor. She also enjoyed working for the Especially for You Tea Room.  She was a member of Kaufman Church of Christ.  Her hobbies included making Christmas ornaments, collecting cookbooks and antiques. She loved flowers and feeding birds. She was a member of the Cameo Club.  Lynn loved being around friends and family. She never met a stranger. During the last year she moved into assisted living in Gun Barrel City called, “The Lodge”. She met new friends and instantly became loved and welcomed by all the residents and staff. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Her parents Bill & Wanda Hunsaker, brother Scott Hunsaker, husband Gerald Howell, and son Tim Howell preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Kim Zaby and husband John, Jim Howell and wife Morgan; brother Ron Hunsaker of Thailand; grandchildren; Kelsy Hodge, Katlyn Calderon, Colton Howell, Cheyene Howell, Maddie Howell, Dylan Howell and Jake Howell; Great Grandchildren; Brayden Chilton, Kade Zaby, Sofia Hodge, Reese Hodge and Chandler Calderon.
