William Howard Catchings, Sr. born in Sylacauga, Alabama on September 22, 1937 passed away at his home on. Sept 15, 2020 in Scurry, TX. He was 82 years old.
He was preceded in death by his mother & father – Minnie & Zeffie Catchings, brothers - Wayne, Butch, & Hoot, sisters – Dot, Jean, & Geraldine.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Catchings of Scurry, Children: Edith & Billy Polley of Scurry, William Jr. & Karen Catchings of Scurry, Matt Catchings of Scurry, and Robbie & Kim Catchings of McLoud, OK, 12 grandchildren and 13 plus great grandchildren.
William served in the Navy during the Korean War 1955 – 1963.
He worked as an iron worker for most of his life, until he started his own welding business which he retired from a few years ago.
William loved deer hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, and sitting on the porch drinking coffee with a friend. He had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke, but more than anything, he loved his family.
Funeral Service will be at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman, Texas on Friday, September 18, 2020. And will be laid to rest tar Pyle Prairie Cemetery, Kemp, TX.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept 17, 2020 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
