Willie D. “Bill” Watson, age 91, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Cedar Lake Nursing Home.

 

Bill was born on March 28, 1931, in Dallas, Texas to his parents, the late William Ernest Watson and Doris Stafford.

 

He served as a police officer in law enforcement for 54 years. During his 54 years of service, he served in many capacities: patrolman, supervisory positions, investigator, Chief of Police, and had served for the last 18 years as a deputy constable for Henderson County, pct. 5. His favorite hobby was being a private pilot. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Bill was a US Air Force and Army National Guard veteran. He was also a Master Mason.

 

Those left to cherish his memories are his sister, Sue Paul (spouse – Wayne) of Sunset, Texas; his special, extended family Brad and Charlotte Miers of Malakoff, Texas; Kyle Miers of Malakoff, Texas; Kacey Winkelvoss (spouse – Ty) of Mabank, Texas, and Liam Miers and Annleigh Miers of Malakoff, Texas; special friends Robert and Louise Harris of Kaufman, Texas. Bill is survived by his best friend Blue. 4 nephews and 1 niece are also left to cherish his memories.

 

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Betty June Mask; his first wife, Robbie Mae Wieland, and by his second wife, Patsy Jean Patton.

 

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Chapel, in Kaufman, Texas, with Pastor Robert Webb officiating.  Friends are invited to gather and share remembrance of Bill during a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 6, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery, Malakoff, Texas.

 

Serving as pall bearers are Brad Miers, Brian Miers, Kyle Miers, Rowdy Miers, Ryan Cates, and honorary pallbearer, Robert Harris.
