Horace (Hoss) Olen Mayfield, Jr.

Horace (Hoss) Olen Mayfield, Jr., 64, of Kaufman, TX passed away peacefully on December 11, 2021, while surrounded by a loving family. Hoss was born on March 9, 1957, to Horace, Sr. and Altha Lee Mayfield. He was raised in Kaufman Texas and graduated from Kaufman high school in 1976. After graduation, Hoss worked in several professions, to include working for Dallas Independent School District in the HVAC department from 1976-1979, Horn-Williams Ford Body Shop from 1979-1984, and finally owned his own paint and body shop in Kaufman, Texas. Hoss worked until his retirement in 2005, where he would spend his following years caring for his loving family.

Hoss found his loving wife, Renae Mayfield in 1989 and the two married on November 6, 1999, in Las Vegas. Hoss had an appetite of risking all, to include riding bulls in high school. As the years passed, Hoss relaxed into the angler game and until now had spent his time fishing area lakes, attempting to win the ever covenant angler trophy. Along with fishing, Hoss really enjoyed bowling and as always, he had a whopping story to tell, as does all anglers.

Hoss loved his family and spending time with them. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle. His parents and daughter Amanda Manning preceded him death. Those left to cherish his memory are wife Renae, sons: Omar Duran and wife Jill and Cody Manning, daughters: Amy Meyers, Andrea Davis and Suzie Stewart; grandchildren: Kodi Manning, Kaci Hodges, Laramie Duke, Kassidi Manning, Tristen SanJuan and husband Lazaro, MaKaylei Vasquez, Brennon Davis, and Dominick Davis; great grandchildren: Hunter Manning, Wylder Hodges, Bryce Hosey, Mateo SanJuan, Catalina SanJuan; brothers: Phillip Mayfield, Stewart Mayfield, Dale Mayfield and wife Stephanie; sister: Karen Lane Pike; nieces and nephews: Lyndsey Puga and husband Robert, Ryan Mayfield, Justin Mayfield, Mason Mayfield, Karigan Mayfield, Ashley and Dustin Bledsoe, Craig and Tocia Enright and Clark and Megan Hardage, brother and sister-in-law: Chad and Pennie Hardage, and DJ Hardage and extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
