Jason Lee Makerney

Jason Lee Makerney, of Kaufman, TX went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2021. Jason was born on November 22, 2004 to Hank, Sr. and Sonia Makerney in Mesquite, TX. Jason, his parents and siblings moved to Kaufman in 2008. Jason attended school at Kaufman High School and was active in FFA, fishing team and Ag class. He was a part of the FFA alumni Association. Jason enjoyed baseball, playing fortnite with his friends and tinker around with shop metals and tools - he truly was a jack of all trades. He won awards for his smoker and at cattle shows. Jason was a devoted Christian and a member of the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Oak Grove where he was a big part of the youth group. His grandparents Johanna and Coke Makerney preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are parents Hank and Sonia of Kaufman, TX, siblings: Megan Guardado and husband Javier, Hank Makerney, Jr. and Michael Makerney; grandparents Lorenza and Hilario Manriquez; nephew and niece Raiden and Hazel Guardado; girlfriend, whom he loved very much, Dakoda "Tennessee" Hood, numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
