Pedro Villalpando Mejia was born on June 3, 1956 to Cipriano Villalpando & Maria Mejia in Tejamen, Durango. In the spring of 1979, he met his beautiful future wife, Maria Isabel Morales in Kaufman, Texas. She knocked on his door with the intentions of selling him Avon products and ended up stealing his heart. As he would later recall, she made fun of his last name, Villalpando...of which he ultimately got the last laugh since she ended up with his last name a mere three months later, June 1979. Thirteen months after they wed, the inseparable couple welcomed their first daughter, Martha. Five years later, Julie arrived in the summer of 1985. Another five years down the road, their son, Gabriel was born in December 1990. Their last child, Miguel made his grand entrance in July of 1995. Pedro was a loyal worker in the steel industry, for over 40 years, he was employed at the same organization, Falcon Steel (later renamed MICA Steel Works) until his retirement in September 2020. While his retirement was short-lived, he thoroughly enjoyed being home and playing with his beloved dog, Maggie and being surrounded by his family. In addition, he and his wife enjoyed vacationing together, especially at his favorite vacation spot of Tomatlán, Veracruz. An avid music lover, he favored corridos and rancheras.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maria Isabel Villalpando; daughter, Martha Villalpando Cox & husband, Michael Cox; daughter, Julie Villalpando Gomez & husband, Steven Gomez; son, Gabriel Villalpando; son, Miguel Villalpando & fiancé, Valarie Martinez; granddaughters, Bonni Cox, Carmyn Cox and Nataly Martinez; great-grandson, Kingston Cox-Taylor, all of Kaufman, Texas; sister, Manuela Villalpando; brother Celso Villalpando & wife, Pina; brother, Jose Villalpando; brother, Augustin Villalpando, all of Durango, Mexico; brother, Luis Villalpando of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; brother Juan Villalpando & wife, Estella of Fairfield, Texas; brother, Pablo Villalpando & wife, Juanita of Kaufman, Texas; brother-in-law, Antonio Hernandez.
